Biodiesel fuel is gaining popularity every year. This is explained by the fact that despite its cost at the level of gasoline, the efficiency of its use is higher, the level of toxic substances emitted into the air is lower, the wear of the engine and the entire fuel system is less, and therefore – a net savings on repairs and maintenance of the car.
Biodiesel is produced from various raw materials, including vegetable oil. Suitable for this purpose are:
- rapeseed oil;
- linseed;
- sunflower oil;
- palm oil;
- soybean;
- coconut oil;
- castor oil.
Technology
Depending on the raw materials used, biofuels of different quality and energy characteristics are obtained. The most caloric biofuel is produced from palm oil, and rapeseed produces fuel most tolerant to low temperatures.
The technological process of biodiesel production is based on a chemical reaction – transesterification. It requires special equipment, which can be purchased only by large fuel production plants.
Quality guarantees from the biofuel producer
Large manufacturers guarantee the high quality of the product, exercising control at all stages of production. Quality indicators are checked in the conditions of the control and analytical laboratory. All fuel has a certificate and fully complies with the parameters stated in it.
Is it possible to independently check the quality of biofuel?
The most reliable result when checking the quality of fuel is obtained by ordering it from an expert laboratory. Visually, quality biofuel should not differ from good vegetable oil: no sediment, no suspended solids, transparent.
