What is the difference between diesel and biodiesel?

Biodiesel, unlike conventional diesel fuel, is produced not from petroleum, but from oils, which in turn are derived from plant or animal fats. The main oils used to produce biodiesel are sunflower oil, peanut oil, palm oil, linseed oil, cottonseed oil, soybean oil, coconut oil, castor oil and others.

What is the disadvantage of biofuels?

One disadvantage is that it still emits CO2 when it is burned, which increases the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Some of this is offset by the fact that the plants used to produce the fuel primarily absorb CO2 as they grow.
